Please allow me to introduce myself my name is Mike Tapia coordinator of Springs Spree 2013 “A City In Celebration” I would like to extend an invitation to you to be part of our summer festival at the 36th annual Springs Spree Saturday June 15th & Sunday June 16th, 2013 in Colorado Springs Colorado’s Memorial Park. Springs Spree is one of Colorado Springs oldest community celebrations that offer many free activities and entertainment for the entire family.
Over the years Springs Spree has been known for its variety of music food and family fun event held on one of the biggest and most popular weekends of the summer “Father’s Day Weekend”, with 70 thousand people in attendance. Springs Spree 2013 will have 3 stages of free live entertainment that will feature performances from the region’s best bands and musicians that in the past have include national recording artists Bucky Covington, Bo Bice and the Lost Trailers. Springs Spree 2013 will continue to include free entertainment with bands as well as cultural dance, music and activities. Our 2013 entertainment committee is currently finalizing this year’s performers and will be making announcements on Springs Spree Facebook and web site in the near future, Springs Spree 2013 will also features a Carnival, SoCo Car Show, Kid Zone, Human Hamster Ball Rides, Colorado Disc Dogs and MUCH MORE! - Springs Spree Carnival:
Springs Spree’s Carnival is open From 10am to 11pm Thursday June 13th through Sunday June 16th. 20 Carnival rides that include Extreme rides like the Drop Tower, Freak Out, Ring of Fire and Genesis along with a Ferris Wheel, Kidde Rides and Games! Springs Spree Carnival “Crabtree Amusement” is one of the top 15 carnivals in the United States and is the official carnival of the Colorado State Fair August through September every year.
- 3 Stages of Live Music all day both days:
Springs Spree is proud to announce three stages of live performances from musicians and performers on a national and regional level. No matter what your flavor and taste for music and cultural performances you will find it at Springs Spree 2013.
- Springs Spree BMX Stunt Team:
James McGraw (7 time X-Games competitor and former world champion) leads the Springs Spree BMX Team with X Treme BMX bike demonstrations on ramps and street level performances that will truly amaze everyone. James and his team will perform every hour through out the Springs Spree weekend.
- Coors Light Beer Garden:
The Coors Light Beer Garden will be a great way to take a break and enjoy the great musical performances of Springs Spree main stage that will feature a variety of bands and musicians performing right in front of you without leaving the Coors Light Beer Garden.
- FATHER’S DAY 5K RUN:
This new 5k course through Memorial Park promises to attract athletes of all abilities. This event is open to both male and female runners of all ages. Whether you are a dad or just want the challenge of an 8k course come on out and help us celebrate Father’s Day. Registration will be open very soon. Cost will be $30.00 until June 15th. Race day (June 16th) registration opens at 6:30am and is $35.00. Enjoy the sights, sounds and aromas as we run, walk and stroll through Springs Spree 2013. Show up for the Run… Stay for the Fun
- Kid Zone inflatable Jump Houses & Bungee Trampoline:
Kids and teenagers will be able to let it all loose in the Springs Spree Kid Zone! 5 inflatable jump houses and a bungee trampoline will keep kids busy and entertained!
- Human Hamster Ball Rides
Human Hamster Balls are a Springs Spree favorite for kids and adults! Strap yourself in or walk the ball across the beautiful slopes of memorial park. For one low price you can experience what a household pet only experiences.
- Springs Spree Choo-Choo Express
The Springs Spree Express / Choo-Choo train for kids rides the Springs Spree pathway. The Express is in a new location between the inflatable Springs Spree Kid Zone.
- Over a Hundred Vendors Selling Arts & Crafts, Specialty, Retail and Novelty Items:
Over a hundred vendors will wrap the Springs Spree walkway, peddling their products! Springs Spree will include great shopping both days, everything from arts & crafts, clothes, jewelry, art and a variety of retail and novelty items.
- Food Vendors with Summertime Tasty Treats:
The Springs Spree food vendors will feel the air with the aroma of summer Turkey Legs, BBQ, Pork Chop on a Stick, Kettle Corn and a variety of treats like the sweet taste of powdered sugar sprinkled over hundreds of funnel cakes washed down by the refreshing taste of Pepsi?
- Springs Spree’s NEW Chairperson:
Springs Spree 2013 welcomes our new Chairperson “Cris Carter” a tremendous addition and asset to our board of directors and Springs Spree future. When you meet Cris, you will have no doubt that she is passionate and enthusiastic in her role as Chairperson of the New Springs Spree 2013. Cris’s goal for this year’s event is to make it a stimulating, family environment that retains the old time charm of past Springs Spree weekends while embracing and promoting learning, discovery and family fun. This year Cris instrumental in creating a separate stage just for the kid’s entertainment and numerous creative kids’ activities to get kids more involved in learning and reading in cooperation with the Pikes Peak Library District.
